So we all have the mornings when we roll out of bed, grab the first thing we can find on our floor and take our dishevelled self to grab that much needed coffee. As you revel in your victory of making it to work on time, you catch a glimpse of your reflection…Yes, that is you.
Now I have been there, it’s early, you can barely string a sentence together let alone attempt eyeliner at this early hour. So what are some simple things you can do so that you look polished even on a Monday? Here are six easy tips that will make you look effortlessly put together even on the days when you’re not feelin’ it!
Whether you get your nails did or have a steady hand yourself, maintaining your tips is essential. Avoid donning chipped nails – It is one of my rules, you can ask my sister about that one!
Now you may not want cray nails like Rhi Rhi but the devil is in the details. If you can’t keep between the lines and paint your nails like Monet?
Tip – Paint and let them dry, when you’re in the shower gently outline your cuticles with tweezers to remove the excess. Gives you perfect nails every time! Don’t forget that top coat ladies!

Being polished means being appropriate and not having to worry about your pink undies shining straight through. So match it my friends, every detail counts. Also wearing that slip or shape wear can let you have that extra Tim Tam and we know how satisfying that can be!

Just today I weighed my options of snoozing or getting up that five minutes earlier. I picked the latter and lucky I did. With an unexpected meeting today, the little details made me feel polished even on a casual Friday. So don’t forget those locks of yours! Lip liner is your best friend here. A great base for your lipstick makes sure it doesn’t bleed and has that stark outline. It’s a great idea to have a go-to red in your basics, it can make you Parisian casual chic or top off your look on a night out.
I like MAC’s Russian Red & Sportsgirl’s Almost Famous, both great colours to suit all complexions.
Tip – Now if red is too daring for you, go for a nude or pink stain gloss. Great to have in your handbag as it can give you dewy cheeks and be make shift mascara for those unexpected events.
A polished look is a simple look – Have a feature piece and work around it.
Don’t be afraid to try that brand new chunky statement necklace you have been eyeing for weeks. It is your colour, trust me!
